User Submission Agreement

Effective Date: March 4, 2026

Littleton Reporter provides several ways for members of the public to submit information, including the File A Report system, news tips, memorial notices, and classified listings. This agreement governs all materials submitted to Littleton Reporter.

1. Responsibility for Submissions

By submitting material to Littleton Reporter, the user affirms that:

(a) the information provided is accurate to the best of their knowledge
(b) the user has the legal right to submit the material
(c) the submission does not violate any law or the rights of another person
 

Users should not submit material that contains:

(a) knowingly false information
(b) defamatory statements
(c) confidential records they are not authorized to disclose
(d) malicious software or harmful code

By submitting materials to Littleton Reporter, the user grants Littleton Reporter a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free license to review, store, edit, reproduce, publish, or archive the submitted material for journalistic purposes. This license applies whether or not the material is ultimately published.

3. Editorial Review

All submissions are subject to editorial review. Littleton Reporter may:

(a) verify information before publication
(b) edit submissions for clarity or length
(c) decline to publish submitted material
 

Submission of information does not guarantee publication.

4. Uploaded Files

If files are uploaded through submission forms, users are responsible for ensuring the files:

(a) are free of malware or malicious code
(b) do not violate copyright laws
(c) do not contain unlawful material
 

Littleton Reporter reserves the right to review, remove, or decline uploaded files.

5. Confidential Sources

Individuals submitting information may request that their identity remain confidential. Littleton Reporter will make reasonable efforts to protect confidential sources consistent with applicable law and journalistic practice. However, electronic communications cannot be guaranteed to be completely secure.

6. Public Interest Reporting

Submitted materials may be used in reporting if the information is verified and determined to be relevant to matters of public interest. Sensitive personal information may be redacted when appropriate.
